A reporter learned from the Central Cyberspace Affairs Office on the 7th that the Central Cyberspace Affairs Office, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, and the People's Bank of China recently jointly issued the "Notice on Carrying out the Special Action to Strengthen Agriculture, Benefit Farmers and Rich Farmers", and deployed the Special Action to Strengthen Agriculture, Benefit Farmers and Rich Farmers in 8 key provinces and cities including Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province, Fujian Province, Shandong Province, Henan Province, Chongqing City, Sichuan Province, and Shaanxi Province.
The notice clarified the action goal: within about two years, outstanding progress has been made in the construction of digital villages in key provinces and cities. The level of informatization of agricultural production has been further improved, new rural industries and new business formats have continued to grow, rural online retail sales have steadily grown, urban-rural digital divide has been accelerated, basic public services have become more balanced and accessible, rural governance efficiency has been significantly improved, rural collective economy and farmers have achieved "double income increase", driving the development of digital rural nationwide to a new level. Key provinces and cities shall determine the proportion of counties, cities and districts included in the scope of special operations based on the actual situation of economic foundation, resource endowment, and participation intention of the county, city and district under their jurisdiction.
The notice deployed six key tasks: vigorously promote the development of smart agriculture, cultivate and strengthen new industries and new business formats, build and strengthen rural digital infrastructure, deepen digital services for farmers to benefit and facilitate the people, create a smart rural governance system, and broaden channels for farmers to increase their income and become rich.
