Dong Caiyun is a National People's Congress representative who was re-elected for two terms. At the 2019 National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Dong Caiyun told the General Secretary that her hometown lacked a highway connecting the outside, and that the children had to take a day's bus to go to school nearby.

After the speech, the General Secretary pointed out: "Comrades from all ministries and commissions are here, and we must actively absorb and adopt the representative's suggestions." After the meeting, Dong Caiyun formally made written suggestions to the conference bill team. In May of that year, construction of the Linda Expressway started.

Over the past few years, Dong Caiyun has come to the construction site again and again, entered the school classroom again and again, and formed dozens of suggestions. Today, the rural education landscape in Linxia Prefecture and even the surrounding areas is constantly changing, laying more beautiful possibilities for the future of local rural revitalization.

Wei Qiao, a post-80s National People's Congress representative, is a master's degree in soil science. Eight years ago, she quit her scientific research job in a big city and returned to her hometown, dedicated to farming in science and technology. During the 2023 National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Wei Qiao told General Secretary Xi Jinping his choices and stories.

The General Secretary said after hearing this: "It is great for comrades like Wei Qiao to go to the countryside!" Then, he further asked Jiangsu to "take the lead in promoting agricultural modernization" and build a new era of fish and rice land with strong agriculture, beautiful rural areas and rich farmers.

After returning home, Wei Qiao led the team to further explore digital planting, which greatly reduced the labor intensity of farmers and significantly improved the yield per mu and the per mu benefits. Nowadays, more and more "new farmers" are devoted to the vast rural areas and become "promoting farmers" in the fields of hope.
