On March 6, the main arch of Yuntaitongjianghe Super Bridge of Sichuan-Shaanxi Town-Guangzhou Expressway was successfully merged, marking that the bridge construction has entered a new stage of the main structure of the main bridge, laying a solid foundation for the early completion and opening of the Tongguang section of Zhenguang Expressway.
The Yuntai Tongjiang River Super Bridge is located in Pingchang County, Bazhong City, an old revolutionary base in Sichuan and Shaanxi. It spans Tongjiang River and connects Pingchang County and Tongjiang County. It is an important control project of Zhenguang Expressway. The entire bridge is 974.5 meters long and has 4 lanes in both directions. The main bridge is designed as an overhead-bearing rigid frame outsourcing concrete arch bridge. The net span of the main arch ring is 380 meters, and the strong skeleton of the main arch ring has a total of 69 sections, spanning the Tongjiang River, and the bridge is magnificent and beautiful.
In order to facilitate people's travel in the surrounding areas, the bridge has a two-lane rural road on one side. The bridge deck is 6.5 meters more than the average expressway bridge, and the total width is 33 meters. After the bridge is opened to traffic, it takes residents on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to reach the other side of the strait to 2 minutes longer than the original one-hour drive, which greatly facilitates the travel of people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
As of now, the construction of the 90-kilometer Shiqiao to Hucheng from the Tongguang section of Zhenguang Expressway has entered the sprint period. The planned opening section of the Tongguang section in 2025 has completed 91% of the roadbed project, 95% of the culvert project, the completion rate of tunnel project construction has reached 99%, and the cumulative completion of the roadbed crossing inspection has been completed by 81 kilometers, and the construction of the road surface project is steadily advancing.
It is understood that the Zhenba (Sichuan-Shaanxi Border) to Guang'an Expressway (Zhenguang Expressway) consists of the Sichuan-Wang section, the Wangtong section and the Tongguang section. The Wangtong section was opened to traffic on January 18, 2022. By the end of 2025, the Tongguang section of Zhenguang Expressway will be opened to traffic by 90 kilometers.
