Today (March 5), the first "Minister's Channel" of the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress was held in the Great Hall of the People. Minister of Transport Liu Wei answered a question from a reporter from the Central Station.
Liu Wei said that a unified and open transportation market is an important part of the unified national market. An important measure to accelerate the construction of a unified and open transportation market is to reduce the logistics costs of the whole society.
The logistics costs of the whole society are mainly composed of three parts: transportation costs, warehousing costs and management costs, of which transportation costs account for more than 50%. To this end, the Ministry of Transport, in conjunction with relevant national ministries and commissions, jointly studied and formulated the "Action Plan for Cost Reduction, Quality and Efficiency in Transportation Logistics", as well as implementation plans in five fields: railways, highways, water transportation, civil aviation, and postal services. After more than a year of hard work, phased results have been achieved. In 2024, the logistics costs of the whole country have been reduced by about 400 billion, of which the transportation costs have been reduced by 280 billion, accounting for about two-thirds.
In the work progress, the Ministry of Transport has focused on three aspects: adjusting structure, strengthening hubs, and promoting intermodal transport.
The Ministry of Transport will implement various measures in detail in accordance with the deployment requirements of this government work report. This year, we will strive to take greater steps and achieve greater results in promoting the unified and open transportation market, in promoting cost reduction, quality and efficiency reduction, and in promoting transportation logistics.
