At around 11:50 on February 8, 2025, a landslide suddenly occurred in Group 2, Jinping Village, Muai Town, Yunlian County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. Today (February 9), Yibin City, Sichuan Province held a press conference to introduce the latest progress in the rescue.
The meeting introduced that as of 24:00 on the 8th, 10 private houses and 1 production house have been verified to be buried, and 2 wounded people have been successfully rescued, including 1 seriously injured and 1 slightly injured. They were treated in Yunlian County People's Hospital, and there was no life-threatening situation. After preliminary verification, the disaster caused 29 people to lose contact, and the final number is still under further verification.
Preliminary analysis shows that due to the recent continuous rainfall and geological conditions, this disaster has caused high-level landslides to transform into debris flow, forming a debris accumulation of about 1.2 kilometers long. The landslide is about 10 to 20 meters thick and is about 100 meters wide, and the square volume of the landslide reaches more than 100,000 cubic meters. At present, the landslide is still continuing.
A total of more than 200 threatened people were transferred, 155 people were placed in the resettlement site of Yunlian County No. 2 Middle School, emergency meals were set up, 30 emergency generators, 100 cotton tents, 400 disaster relief beds, and 1,100 quilts, so as to fully ensure the basic living needs of the people who are transferred to meals, accommodation, heating, etc. The remaining people have been properly resettled by visiting relatives and friends.
