According to Shanghai Customs statistics, in 2024, the import and export scale of the Yangtze River Delta region hit a record high: the total value is 16.01 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%, accounting for 36.5% of the total national import and export value. Among them, exports were 9.95 trillion yuan and imports were 6.06 trillion yuan, accounting for 39.1% and 32.9% of the total national import and export value, respectively, an increase of 8.2% and 1.5% year-on-year respectively.
In 2024, the Yangtze River Delta region: 7.7 trillion yuan of imports and exports to countries jointly built the "Belt and Road" countries, accounting for 34.9% of the total import and exports to countries jointly built the "Belt and Road" countries; 4.9 trillion yuan of imports and exports to other RCEP members, accounting for 37.3% of the total import and exports to other RCEP members; 2.13 trillion yuan of imports and exports to other BRICS countries, accounting for 34.6% of the total import and exports to other BRICS countries.
In 2024, the export of mechanical and electrical products in the Yangtze River Delta region was 5.96 trillion yuan, accounting for 60% of the total exports in the Yangtze River Delta region. Among them:
Integrated circuit exports were 455.35 billion yuan, accounting for 40.1% of the total export value of similar commodities in the country;
Ship exports were 198.17 billion yuan, an increase of 57.7% year-on-year, accounting for 64.2% of the total export value of similar commodities in the country;
Auto exports were 326.08 billion yuan, accounting for 39.1% of the total export value of similar commodities in the country.
In 2024, the Yangtze River Delta region: high-end equipment exports were 261.16 billion yuan, an increase of 61.7% year-on-year, accounting for 56.7% of the same goods in the country; high-tech products exports were 2.23 trillion yuan, accounting for 35.5% of the total export value of similar goods in the country; private enterprises import and export 8.69 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year, accounting for 35.7% of the total import and export value of private enterprises in the country.
