Ministry of Commerce: China urges the US to completely cancel unilateral tariffs

CCTV News2025-05-29

At the Ministry of Commerce’s regular press conference held this afternoon, the spokesperson said that China urged the US to completely cancel the wrong practice of unilateral tariffs.

Ho Yongqian, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, said that China has noticed that on May 28 local time, the US Court of International Trade ruled that Trump's global tariffs, retaliation tariffs and "fentanyl" tariffs were illegal, and demanded that they be revoked and permanently stopped.

China has always advocated that there is no winner in the trade war and there is no way out for protectionism. Since the US introduced unilateral tariff measures, it has not only not solved any of the US's own problems, but has seriously damaged the international economic and trade order, seriously interfered with the production and operation of enterprises and people's daily consumption, harmed others and did not benefit oneself, and has also aroused many opposition voices in the United States. China urges the US to face up to the rational voices of the international community and all domestic parties and completely abolish the wrong practice of unilateral tariffs.
