Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding, Xue Xiang, Li Xi and Han Zheng participated in the voluntary tree planting activity in the capital on the morning of the 3rd that afforestation is an important part of the construction of ecological civilization. All regions and departments should take further action, mobilize and organize the majority of cadres and the masses to actively participate in afforestation and greening, practice the concept of green development, promote ecological culture, gather the tremendous power to jointly build a beautiful China, and make the land of the motherland more green and vibrant.

It is almost Qingming Festival, and the capital Beijing has a bright spring scenery and a gentle breeze. At around 10:30 a.m., Party and state leaders Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, Han Zheng and others took a bus to the bank of the Yongding River in Fengtai District, and participated in voluntary tree planting with cadres and the masses.

The tree planting point is located in the Yongding River Greenway Demonstration Section. The water system in this area is diverse in shape and has a continuous 7-kilometer waterfront space. It is creating a waterfront green corridor with both ecological conservation and leisure and fitness functions.

When seeing the General Secretary coming, the cadres and masses who were planting trees greeted the General Secretary enthusiastically. Xi Jinping waved to everyone, picked up a shovel and walked towards the tree planting site, and worked together with the responsible persons of the Beijing Municipal and the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, cadres and the masses, and Young Pioneers on the scene.

Shut soil to create pits, cultivate soil cofferdams, lift water and water... Xi Jinping planted many seedlings such as oil pine, golden branch locust, beauty plum, car beam wood, eucommia ulmoides, and ingot maple. While working, Xi Jinping asked about the children's study, life and labor exercise. He emphasized that a better life is created by labor. Young people should love labor and nature, actively participate in public welfare activities such as afforestation, exercise their bodies, temper their will, and increase their knowledge in labor, and achieve the comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. The atmosphere at the tree planting site was warm and there was a busy scene.

During the tree planting, Xi Jinping had cordial conversations with the cadres and masses present. He said that my country's forest coverage rate has exceeded 25%, contributing about 25% of the global new green area. After continuous efforts, the Taklamakan Desert has put on a "green scarf", and the Korqin Sand is reappearing in the grassland scenery, and the achievements are hard-won. The ecological environment continues to improve, and the people's feelings are the most direct and sincere. At the same time, we must see that the total amount of forest and grass resources in my country is still insufficient, and the quality and efficiency are not high enough. We must effectively solve prominent problems and strive to do better every year.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the motherland must adhere to the "three greens" of expanding green and promoting green protection, and promote the linkage of the "four warehouses" of forest reservoirs, money reservoirs, grain reservoirs and carbon reservoirs. We must pay more attention to "quality improvement", optimize the structure of stands, do a good job in forest management, and simultaneously improve the ecological quality of grassland. Pay more attention to "developing businesses", use reform methods to activate forest and grass resources, and strengthen the forest and grass industry. Pay more attention to "benefiting the people", add green around the people and the beauty in front of them, and expand the space for forest and grass employment and income increase.

Xi Jinping emphasized that voluntary tree planting is a national action and must continue to work from generation to generation. We must enhance our sense of responsibility, innovate participation methods, strengthen service support, carry out this activity in a solid manner, and continuously improve the effectiveness of afforestation and greening.
