Ministry of Commerce: Hope that the EU can properly resolve frictions as soon as possible through dialogue and consultation

CCTV News2025-12-11

This afternoon, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference, and the spokesperson responded to the trade remedy dialogue between China and the EU this week.

Ministry of Commerce Spokesperson He Yadong: China and the EU just held a trade remedy dialogue this week and will continue consultations next week. China welcomes the EU to resume negotiations on price commitments again and appreciates the EU's return to the track of resolving differences through dialogue. What I want to emphasize here is that the China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics has been entrusted by different types of Chinese enterprises to propose solutions that represent the overall position of the industry. China and the EU have conducted multiple rounds of consultations on this and achieved certain results. If the European side is negotiating with China while also negotiating with individual companies separately, it will not be conducive to maintaining mutual trust between the two parties and will be detrimental to overall advancement efficiency. It is hoped that the EU will earnestly implement the important consensus reached at the China-EU leaders' meeting, strictly abide by the principle of non-discrimination, build on previous efforts, properly resolve frictions through dialogue and consultation as soon as possible, and create an open and stable market environment for the development of China-EU industries.
