CCTV News: The reporter learned from the Yangtze River Maritime Bureau that the "Rules for Ship Navigation from Anhui to Sichuan Section of the Yangtze River Main Line" and the supporting "Catalogue of Navigation Branches, Recommended Routes, Cross-driving Areas, and One-way Navigation Water Areas of the Yangtze River Main Line" were officially implemented at 12:00 on May 12. This will historically achieve the unification of navigation rules in the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River main line.

In the past, there were 7 navigation rules in the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, which had differences in the principles of route setting and avoidance, and poor communication and cooperation, which affected navigation capabilities and transportation efficiency.

The "Rules for Navigation of Ships from Anhui to Sichuan Section of the Yangtze River Trunk Line" (hereinafter referred to as the "Rules") is the first general rule for ship navigation on the Yangtze River Trunk Line. It unifies the route setting standards and ship navigation rules. By scientifically adjusting the proportion of navigation in the divided lanes, reasonably setting recommended routes, one-way navigation waters and cross-driving areas, realizing navigation in the divided lanes, reducing the cross-traffic of large and small ships. After the implementation of the "Rules", the efficiency of waterway traffic will be improved.

Zhang Shaoping, Director of the General Navigation Department of the Yangtze River Maritime Bureau: It is expected that more than 1.5 million ships sailing in the Anhui-Sichuan section of the Yangtze River will save about 250,000 tons of fuel every year, effectively improving the turnover efficiency of passenger and freight transportation.
