Reporter Tian Yating learned from the Chinese Red Cross Society on the 7th that the national Red Cross system has established a Red Cross rescue team of more than 1,000 and 100,000 people in eight categories, and has carried out emergency rescue for natural disasters and emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.

Wang Bin, vice president of the Chinese Red Cross Society, introduced that in recent years, the national Red Cross system has actively served the overall national emergency work, helped the construction of a healthy China, carried out in-depth humanitarian assistance, solidly promoted hematopoietic stem cell donation, human organ donation, etc., increased information disclosure, actively carried out international humanitarian exchanges and cooperation, and made new progress in various work.

It is reported that in 2024, the national Red Cross system launched 565 emergency responses and invested 775,000 disaster relief materials; it jointly promoted emergency rescue training in communities, rural areas, campuses, enterprises, institutions, and families with 13 departments including the National Health Commission, the Ministry of Education. It trained more than 18 million certificate-gathering ambulance workers, and equipped more than 83,000 automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in public places such as schools, transportation stations, and scenic spots.

In addition, the national Red Cross system has built more than 7,000 love homes in urban and rural communities, and has carried out the "Red Cross Love Giving Ten Thousand Family" activity for 27 consecutive years, benefiting more than 20 million needy households and helping 107,000 children with serious illnesses. Up to now, more than 7.07 million human organ donors have been registered nationwide, more than 58,000 donations have been donated after citizens’ deaths, and the cumulative data of the Chinese Bone Marrow Bank has exceeded 3.6 million, and a total of 20,000 donations have been donated.
