The new pressure steel plate used in the project construction comes from Liaoning Ansteel Group, nearly 2,000 kilometers away. The team led by Hu Fengya, a post-90s generation, provides technical support for the welding of new steel plates.

Hu Fengya, deputy director of the Welding and Corrosion Research Institute of Ansteel Group's Iron and Steel Research Institute, introduced that the skill masters of their team are all the top welding champions of Ansteel. For every young man, this is the time to do something.

Hu Fengya often said that major national projects are the "touch furnace" of scientific research teams, which can test their "precision needles and threads" forging the heavy equipment of major countries. And she fell in love with welding started with an arc.

From choosing the welding technology and engineering major at Harbin Institute of Technology to studying abroad, Hu Fengya locked the same direction all the way, and welding was the flash of lightning in her youth. In 2015, Hu Fengya gave up the opportunity to study for a doctorate with full scholarships abroad and entered the Ansteel and Steel Research Institute.

Hu Fengya said that Angang was a child's textbook. Although she is from Anhui, she has heard the story of Angang's model worker and the old hero Meng Tai since she was a child. This is a kind of admiration.

Meng Tai, the model worker who Hu Fengya looked up to, was the first batch of labor models in New China, and was once the deputy director of Ansteel Iron Smelting Plant. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, everything was in trouble and steel was needed everywhere. In 1950, the Korean War broke out and the demand for steel surged. Masters such as Meng Tai led young steel workers to start from scratch and rush to produce.

From helping the country resume production to developing the first "striving steel" in the new China that meets the requirements of bridge construction, facing the poor and backward New China, the young people of Angang at that time used steel will to overcome technical difficulties again and again under the leadership of the masters, and completed breakthroughs from 0 to 1.

Time has passed, and more than 70 years have passed, and the belief of "innovation, realistic, struggle, and dedication" has long been engraved in the hearts of generations of Angang people, and has become Hu Fengya's pursuit after entering Angang.

After coming to Angang, the first project she participated in was the national "863" project-the development of titanium steel composite panels. If you want to open up the composite board market, you must solve the world problem of composite board welding, and this problem is under the responsibility of Hu Fengya. In order to solve the problem, she went to the world's top welding research institute for exchange, but the other party had no solution.

Hu Fengya said that the key core technologies cannot be brought, bought, or begged for. If the country is stuck, they will attack wherever it is. Since there isn't, just do it yourself.

In order to complete this breakthrough from 0 to 1, after returning to China, Hu Fengya established an applied innovation youth commando. From design, bevel, welding materials to process control, a little bit of re-invested experiments.

It took 1022 days, went through 26 variable adjustments, and completed thousands of experiments. Hu Fengya's team finally developed an intermediate blocking material, reducing the cost of titanium steel composite panels by 75% and realizing industrial application.

Now, her team has overcome the world's thickest hydropower steel and the highest-strength deep-sea steel, and has branded the world's heavy welds of 50% of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Hualong No. 1 nuclear power equipment and other heavy equipment of major countries.
